The Super FALCONS aka the Empresses of Africa continue to prove their mettle! Nigeria has qualified for EVERY WORLD CUP since 1991 and is the most successful team in the African Championship. Of the few teams I remember from 2015, this has to be one! Their group stage match against USA is still fresh and so is the memory of being AWESTRUCK! They were superb whether attack or defense and all Superpower USA could manage was a classic diving header by GOAT Abby Wambach in the last few minutes! I was honestly shocked to see USA struggle, but more importantly, spellbound by Nigeria!!! 😀

I really hope to see them go lot farther as they deserve, and I sure am greedy for some edge-of-the-seat FOOTBALL!

First Match: Norway vs Nigeria, 9 June 2019, Stade AugusteDelaune, Reims, France

20. Scotland

FIFA Ranking: 20

Coach: Michelle KERR

Group: D

Team Scotland

Scotland has qualified for the first time, officially, in FIFA World Cup. As I read up about them, I got to know their decades old fight against misogyny, male chauvinism and male inferiority complex! Shame on those men and women who have the audacity to judge people they’ll never be able to match!!! Scotland has nonetheless stood strong and I hope they do well!

They have a really tough face-off against English neighbors and Asian giants Japan.

First Match: England vs Scotland, 9 June 2019, Allianz Riviera, Nice, France

19. Sweden

FIFA Ranking: 9

Coach: Peter GERHARDSSON

Group: F

Team Sweden

Sweden has been a regular face in the World Cup, took home BRONZE in 2011. They have a prolific record across all competitions- European, Algarve(2018 winners), Olympics and World Cup. The men’s team failed to even qualify for 2018 World Cup, and so a lot of nation’s pride rides on their able and strong shoulders! Their major opposition will naturally be USA, but they have a pretty good chance of advancing and finishing high!

First Match: Chile vs Sweden, 11 June 2019, Roazhon Park, Rennes, Brittany, France
