China has always been a stronghold of women’s football and a pioneer in the Asian Chapter but it is yet to prove itself against mightier local rivals like Japan. It will face tough competition from European giant and Olmypic 2016 Winners Germany and football-frenzy Spain.
China will have to work hard on its attack because as far as I remember 2015, their K was a hit!
First Match : Germany vs China PR, 8 June 2019, Stade de la Route de Lorient, Rennes, Brittany, France
9. Netherlands
FIFA Ranking : 8
Coach : : Sarina WIEGMAN
Group E

The Dutch will look to jump up on the International stage. They carry the responsibility of a football-frenzy nation as their male counterparts failed to deliver in the last men’s world cup 2018. But History stands testament to their capabilities!
Women in orange would fight hard to get a top spot against favorites Canada and contenders New Zealand and Cameroon. The 2015 edition was their debut season and saw them progress from group stage.
First Match: New Zealand vs Netherlands, 11 June 2019, Stade Océane, Le Havre, France
8. Norway
FIFA Ranking : 12
Coach: Martin SJOGREN
Group A

This is one team I remember very fondly! And, write-up for this team will be very personal! 🙂 As I watched a group stage match of the 2015 edition, I did not expect anything extraordinary as I had never really heard of Norway as a sporting nation when it comes to sports we follow in India! But after that match, I WAS BEDAZZLED! The attacks, the defence, the Goalie- everything and everyone was SURREAL!
They were literally shooting bullets out of their feet! It was absolutely amazing. I couldn’t look away. And as I read up about them, I got to know their prolific history in FIFA, crowned Champions in 1995 and European Champions twice! But their decline is not alien to us either. Norway will definitely look to regain their position after winning the Algarve Cup in 2019, and I sure hope they do!!! Ada Hegerberg will be missed nonetheless!
First Match : Norway vs Nigeria, 9 June 2019 IST, Stade Auguste–Delaune, Reims, France
